Tunisia: Revenues from olive oil export rise 61.7% in first ten months of campaign

Tunisia’s olive oil export earnings reached 4804.8 million dinars during the first ten months of the campaign (November 2023-August 2024), up 61.7% compared to the same period of the previous campaign, according to the National Agricultural Observatory (ONAGRI).

The volume of olive oil exports increased by 3.2% compared with the previous year, reaching 181.3 thousand tons.

The average price for the first ten months of the 2023/2024 campaign rose by 56.7% to TND 26.51/Kg, compared with TND 16.92/Kg for the same period of the previous campaign.

Spain is the main destination for Tunisian olive oil, accounting for 30.8% of exports, followed by Italy (28%) and the United States (23.6%).

During the same period, organic olive oil exports reached 39,194 tons with a value of TND 1,061 million at an average price of TND 27.07/kg.

Their share in Tunisia’s total olive oil exports is 21.6% and 22.1% in terms of quantity and value respectively.

The quantities of packaged olive oil represent 5.8% of the total organic olive oil exported.

Italy is the main destination for organic olive oil with 52.09% of the quantities exported, followed by Spain and France with 28.07% and 12.10%.
