Tunisia: tourism bouncing back

According to informed sources quoted by newspaper Assahafa, tourism began to recover its pre-Revolution pace, since the number of tourists posted, from January 1 to February 20, an increase of about 72.2%, with 476,412 tourists.

The same sources explain this growth by the increase recorded in the North African market, namely the markets of Libya, Algeria, Morocco… where the rate of arrivals from these countries jumped 75.9% during the period mentioned.

The improvement has also concerned the European market with an increasing flow of about 51.8%, thanks to the French and especially German tourists whose numbers soared 140.3%.

As for revenues, they increased from January 1 to February 20, at a rate of 32.4%, amounting to 283 million dinars against 213.7 million dinars during the same period last year.
