Tunisia: new shipping line Sfax-Novorossiysk (Russia) Operational November 2

A new maritime line linking the port of Sfax to that of Novorossiysk in Russia, with two calls per month, will be operational from November 2. This new sea link will reduce 10 to 5 days the duration of the crossing between the two ports and is designed primarily for transporting food products, marble and tiles and pottery products.

An information day was held Monday at the Exporter House on the official opening of the new shipping line. This is a line provided by a single ship, which is a direct crossing from Sfax to Novorossiysk, and return with a stopover in Istanbul … The maximum transport capacity is set to 110 containers (with a size of 20 feet) per call, it is expected that the first service welcomes 60 20-foot containers.

In this framework, a partnership agreement was signed between the Tunisian Navigation Company (CTN) and the Tunisian society Maritime Lines (MTL) of marine services to the rental of containers and operation of storage areas.

In addition, under an agreement between the Exports Promotion Centre (CEPEX) and the Tunisian Navigation Company (CTN), the new sea link offers exporters to the Russian market a 33% reduction in the amount of shipping costs of food products and 25% for craft products.
