The year 2025 was particularly dynamic for the Tunisian automobile market, with a notable rebound in sales of passenger cars (PC) and light utility vehicles (LUV).
According to official registration figures collected throughout the past year, five brands clearly stand out for their popularity among Tunisian motorists.
With 7,056 registrations, KIA tops the ranking of the best-selling brands in Tunisia in 2025. The Korean brand has managed to appeal to a wide audience, notably thanks to a diverse and competitive range in terms of value for money.
KIA benefited from strong growth over several key months, consolidating its leading position in an evolving market.
Hyundai ranks second with 6,203 registrations. Very popular among Tunisian drivers, Hyundai benefits from the expansion of its distribution network and a growing appeal for its compact and urban SUV models.
The brand maintained stable performance throughout the year, remaining close to Kia’s level despite increased competition.
In third place, Renault recorded 4,715 registrations in 2025. The Franco-Tunisian manufacturer retains a solid base of loyal customers, particularly in the city car and multi-purpose vehicle segments.
Although outpaced by the Korean brands, Renault remains a safe bet in the market, benefiting from a strong image and a vast after-sales network.
With 4,033 registrations, Isuzu occupies fourth place in the ranking. Building on its reputation for robustness, particularly for light commercial vehicles and pick-ups, the Japanese brand continues to be a preferred choice for professionals and businesses, which explains its significant performance despite a more specialized positioning.
Finally, Toyota closes the top 5 with 3,992 registrations. Although its sales remain solid, Toyota finds itself slightly behind its Korean and European competitors.
The Japanese brand, however, retains a loyal customer base, attracted by the reliability and durability of its models.
The year 2025 is characterized by a marked recovery in registrations after several years of fluctuation. There were substantial increases, particularly in spring and summer, with months like July (+63%) and April (-34%) showing exceptional performance.
Overall, the entire market shows notable growth, reflecting sustained demand and renewed confidence among Tunisian consumers in acquiring new vehicles.
The Korean brands Kia and Hyundai confirm their ascent, capitalizing on attractive equipment-price ratios and a strong commercial presence.
Renault, a classic in the local market, retains its place among the leaders, while the Japanese brands Isuzu and Toyota continue to perform, particularly in specific segments.
