The Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB) is strengthening its commitment to sustainable development through its active participation in the ADAPT program (Appui au Développement Durable dans le Secteur de l’Agriculture et de la Pêche Artisanale en Tunisie).
By supporting private operators in sustainable agriculture, small-scale fisheries and aquaculture and related value chains, ATB helps them to develop their projects while promoting sustainable and responsible practices.
Funded by the European Union and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the ADAPT program has a budget of €70 million and aims to support private investment by actors (family farms, SMEs/SMIs, SMSA/Ps, GDA/Ps and GIEs) operating in Tunisia in these key sectors.
The program will finance, among other things, the purchase of new machinery and equipment, raw materials for production, construction and development work, technical studies and various services related to the implementation of projects.
The aim is to improve the economic, social and environmental performance of private operators involved in value chains based on ecological and sustainable production systems.
This major commitment confirms ATB’s position as a strategic partner for sustainable development in a sector that is crucial to Tunisia’s future.
Aware of the challenges posed by climate change, the depletion of natural resources and the fragility of the food balance, ATB has made green finance a priority in its financing processes.
By facilitating access to credit for operators eligible for the ADAPT program, ATB encourages the transition to sustainable, environmentally friendly practices.
At the same time, the bank’s teams will receive training and skills development in order to better serve customers and meet their specific needs. ATB customers wishing to benefit from this financial support and the ADAPT contribution can submit their applications via the dedicated platform: https://plateforme.adapt-tunisie.org.
With the ADAPT program, ATB reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and innovation for more resilient agriculture and fisheries.
