BH ASSURANCE’s total turnover was 56.3 million dinars in the first quarter of the current year, compared with 50.6 million dinars at the end of March 2023, representing growth of 11%.
Non-life insurance posted a turnover of 34.9 million dinars, compared with 34.1 million dinars in 2023, an increase of 3%. Life insurance posted premium income of 21.4 million dinars, compared with 16.5 million dinars in 2023, an increase of 29%.
Ceded premiums rose by 2%, mainly as a result of the increase in premium income. The cost of claims totaled 35.3 million dinars, compared with 23.7 million dinars at March 31, 2023, up 49%.
This change is attributable to the occurrence of a large claim, but one that was heavily reinsured.
Investment income amounted to 6.8 million dinars, compared with 5.8 million dinars at March 31, 2023.
