Tunisia: bookings of French tourists soar

Bookings of French tourists in March fell by 4% over the previous year, according to a report of Snav Atout France, published Thursday, April 19. “The influence of the upcoming elections [seems] to outweigh the positive effect of timing,” said the two organizations, according to the website “CommentCaMarche.”

Medium-haul bookings are down 5% in sales volume and number of passengers. However, the Snav (National Union of Travel Agents) and Atout France noticed a sharp increase for Tunisia (+121%) and Morocco (38%), which seem to bounce back after large declines in bookings, the last year.

These increases penalize Spain and Italy, with reservations down 17% and 12%, respectively.
