Tunisia: BTK Leasing improves profit by 60% to 3.3 million dinars in 2021

BTK Leasing, formerly known as Arab International Lease (AIL), has published its financial statements closed as of December 31, 2021 as they will be submitted for approval at the Ordinary General Meeting to be held on April 15, 2022.

The subsidiary of BTK Bank has achieved a net profit of 3.3 million dinars last year, against 2 million in 2020, posting a growth of about 62%.

This performance is the result of the 30% increase in net leasing income from 9.9 million dinars in 2020 to 13 million at the end of last December due to the rise in interest and similar income on leasing operations to 24.2 million dinars, from 21.1 million in 2020.

On the other hand, operating expenses have been held under control and went up only 5% from 5.9 million dinars to 6.2 million between December 2020 and December 2021, including 4 million in personnel expenses.

Consequently, the operating income emerges up 155% to 5.2 million dinars, against 2 million a year earlier.

It should be recalled that the Extraordinary General Assembly of December 20, 2021 decided to change the name of the company AIL to become BTK Leasing.
