Tunisia’s state grain agency bought around 125,000 tons of feed barley at an international auction on Tuesday, European traders were quoted by Reuters as saying.
Barley was bought for the lowest price, $231.60 per ton with freight included (c&f), from Dreyfus and Dreyfus.
The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later.
The grain can come from a variety of origins. It is required in five consignments ranging between 25,000 and 50,000 tons, depending on the origin chosen.
The World Bank is providing the financing for this tender, as it is one of the organizations that help Tunisia with its financial problems.
