The turnover of Carthage Cement (CA) recorded an increase of 35%, at the end of the first quarter of 2023, compared to the first quarter of 2022, to 112.981 million dinars (MD), according to the company’s indicators published by the Tunis Stock Exchange.
This growth was recorded in the company’s three activities, namely cement, aggregates and ready-mixed concrete.
The rise of the turnover of the cement activity is mainly explained by the significant increase by 64% in the export turnover (cement and clinker), from 11,981 MD in the first quarter of 2022 to 19,621 MD on March 31, 2023.
It also represents an increase of 30% in local turnover, from 64,466 MD in the first quarter of 2022 to 83,567 MD on March 31? 2023.
Carthage Cement thus confirms its position as the leader of the cement sector in Tunisia, according to the same source. By activity, the indicators of Carthage Cement recorded a significant increase of 40% of the aggregates’ turnover, at the end of the first quarter of 2023, to 5.808 MD against 4.148 MD for the same period of the previous year.
As for the turnover of the concrete activity, it showed a growth of 19% to 3.984 MD against 3.338 MD, for the same period of the previous year. Investments reached 5,161 MD on March 31, 2023.The total debt reached a value of 389,469 MD on March 31, 2023, a decrease of 5% compared to March 31, 2022.
