Tunisia: contribution of foreign investment to GDP will rise to 4.6% in 2016-2020

The contribution of foreign investment to GDP is projected to rise from 2.3% in the period 2011-2016 to 4.6% in the period 2016-2020. This is what appeared from the investment report presented to Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation, Mohamed Fadhel Abdelkefi, during his visit, Tuesday, to the headquarters of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA).

The achievement of this objective requires, according to the same report, the improvement of the business and investment climate, through the pursuit of the necessary reforms, as well as strengthening political, economic and security stability which will help attract more foreign investment.

The document noted, in this context, the presence of 3,353 foreign companies on the Tunisian territory, which offer about 355 thousand jobs.
