According to a document outlining the main features of the draft State Budget for 2025, prepared by the Ministry of Finance and obtained by the State, there are plans to continue controlling the wage bill for civil servants.
The draft state budget for next year foresees a gradual reduction of the wage bill as a share of GDP to a reasonable level of 13.3%, compared to 13.6% in 2024 and 14.2% in 2023.
In fact, the draft State budget for 2025 sets the amount allocated to expenditure on salaries at 24,389 million dinars, an increase of 8.1% compared to 2024.
The wage bill for civil servants will thus account for 40.7% of total budget expenditure.
