Crown Holdings announced Tuesday that it is continuing its leadership in North Africa by investing in its Tunis plant, doubling its annual capacity.
The plant, located in the El Agba region near Tunis, will now be able to produce more than 1.2 billion cans per year.
North Africa is a fast-growing market for the beverage can and an important region for beverage producers, both multinationals and the now popular local brands. The beverage can is a sustainable and infinitely recyclable form of packaging.
The company was the first to recognize the market opportunity and strong workforce in the region, investing in North Africa almost 20 years ago.
