Tunisia: domestic crude oil production rises 19% in January 2021

The domestic production of crude oil went up 19% in January 2021 compared to January 2020, standing at 167 thousand tons (kt).

According to the monthly report of the Department of Energy on the Energy Situation, “the contribution of Halk el Manzel which started production in January 2021 and Nawara has offset the decline in production recorded in several fields namely: Hasdrubal (-20%), Ghrib (-62%), Cherouq (-15%) and Cercina (-10%)”.

Other fields saw an improvement in production, namely El Hajeb / Guebiba (+41%), Baraka (+408%), Ashtart (+22%) and Adam (+9%).

The average daily oil production rose from 35.1 thousand barrels / d in January 2020 to 41.4 thousand barrels / d in January 2021, said the same source.
