A decree law amending the Supplementary Finance Law for 2014 was published in the official gazette on 15 October 2024, repealing the provisions of Article 16 of the law, which prohibits the possession of more than five thousand dinars in cash of unknown origin.
It should also be recalled that the Council of Ministers, meeting on Thursday at the Government Palace in the Kasbah and chaired by Prime Minister Kamel Madouri, approved the draft decree law amending Law No. 2014-54 of 19 August 2014 on the supplementary finance law for 2014, according to a press release issued by the Prime Ministry.
Indeed, it has been decided to abolish the offence of possession of cash sums equal to or greater than 5,000 dinars, the origin of which is not justified, provided for in Article 16 of the 2014 Finance Act.
This decision aims to ease the constraints on small traders, farmers and craftsmen, who are often penalized in their transactions by these rules.
