Tunisia: expat remittances exceed 4 billion dinars

The cumulative remittances (since the beginning of the year) of Tunisia’s expats have reached 4 billion dinars, equivalent to 1.45 billion dollars or 1.24 billion euros until September 20, 2020.

These remittances therefore show an increase of 325.7 million dinars (+8.8%) compared to the same date in 2019.

They represent two and a half times the amount of cumulative tourism receipts of Tunisia stopped at the same date.

It should be recalled that in 2019, Tunisia came 7th in the ranking of African countries receiving remittances from their migrants with 1.9 billion dollars, representing about 4.9% of GDP.
