Tunisia: Filling rate of all Tunisian dams is 38.7%

The fill rate of Tunisia’s dams stood at 38.7% on May 5, 2025, according to the latest data published by the National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI).

The water reserves in these dams increased by 13.5% to 917.047 million m3 compared with 808.160 million m3 a year earlier, with a smaller increase of 6.2% compared with the average for the last three years.

It should be noted, however, that the filling rate varies from region to region.

Dams in the North, for example, have a filling rate of 45%. It is important to note that these dams account for 91% of the water reserves available in all the country’s dams.

As for the dams in the Centre and Cap-Bon, their fill levels were limited to 14.1% and 30.4% respectively.

The total inflow into the dams May 5 was 2,770 million m3, almost all of which came from the dams in the north of the country. The total use of this water was estimated at 1,350 million m3 on the same day.
