The transport situation in Tataouine, as in other governorates, is difficult because the fleet has not been renewed in recent years, Minister of Transport, Rachid Amri, told Mosaïque FM on the sidelines of a visit to the governorate.
He added that the fleet of the Medenine Regional Transport Company, in all its branches in the governorates of Tataouine and Médenine, will be reinforced by 8 new buses purchased by the company.
The Minister of Transport also announced the launch of a public transport line between Tataouine and Tunis in June 2025, with a temporary link to Gabes and Sfax to allow people from Tataouine to travel to Tunis.
He indicated that the national fleet will be reinforced by 300 second-hand buses and the same number of new buses in 2025, which will be distributed to regional companies.
