The company “Les Ciments de Bizerte” achieved a turnover of 111 million dinars in 2020, compared to 103.2 million a year earlier, a growth of 7.5%.
This increase is mainly due to higher revenues from local sales by 8.5% to 105.4 million dinars, compared to 97.1 million at the end of December 2019.
On the other hand, exports posted a decrease of 7.4% to 5.7 million dinars.
The decline in exports is due to the suspension of clinker contracts, which is the result of an international economic situation affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite the total suspension of production for 45 days (general lockdown), clinker production was maintained at its 2019 level of 663,491 tons in 2020.
This production was achieved despite a 1 month shutdown for a process filter intervention and the replacement of all the bags.
Regarding the outstanding bank debt of the company, it reached a record of 160 million dinars at the end of December 2020, against 127.8 million at the same date one year earlier, in addition to management credits of about 14.1 million dinars.
