National crude oil production stood at 917 kilotonnes (kt) at the end of August 2024, a decrease of 13% compared to the end of August 2023, according to the report on the energy situation for August 2024 published by the National Energy and Mining Observatory.
This decline affects several fields, namely Ashtart (-26%), El Hajeb/Guebiba (-30%), Gherib (-33%), Maamoura (-89%), Baraka (-34%), Halk el Manzel (-19%), Miskar (-12%), M. L.D. (-16%), El borma (-1%), Hasdrubal (-10%), Cercina (-9%), Nawara (-8%) and Dorra (-30%).
On the other hand, other fields recorded an increase in production, namely Adam (+8%), Ouedzar (+16%), Bir Ben Tartar (+83%), Sidi Litayem (+34%) and Ch.Essaida (+17%).
According to the same source, average daily oil production fell from 33.8 thousand barrels/d at the end of August 2023 to 29.5 thousand barrels/d at the end of August 2024.
