The quantities of grain harvested until July 19, 2016 as against 6.6 million quintals in the same period of last year, the harvest has advanced 90%, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries.
The same statistics show that the quantities collected are distributed as follows: 4.9 million quintals of durum wheat, 437,450 quintals of soft wheat, 1.11 million quintals of barley and 1,070 quintals of triticale, the ministry said in a statement.
The harvested area reached 698,000 ha, representing 90% of the areas planned for harvest.
The quantity of certified cereal seed harvested until July 21, 2016 are estimated at 297,600 quintals that are added to a production of 13,000 quintals remaining from 2015, while the quantities of ordinary seeds collected as part of the constitution of a reserve stock, amounted to 193,400 quintals.
