Tunisia: Net foreign exchange reserves rise to 114 days of imports

Net foreign currency reserves stood at TND 26.3 billion on August 29, 2023, equivalent to 114 days of imports, compared with 116 days of imports on the same date last year (TND 23.7 billion), according to monetary and financial indicators published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) on Wednesday.

The bank’s data also show a 53% increase in tourism receipts, which reached TND 4.7 billion on August 20, and a slight 5% increase in accumulated workers’ remittances, from TND 4.6 billion on August 20, 2022 to 4.9 billion dinars, while foreign debt servicing increased by 8.7% to TND 6.2 billion.
