Oil production has reached 9.48 million barrels on the date of 20 July 2016, i.e. an average daily production of about 46,900 barrels, posting a significant decline of 8.6% compared to last year (10.36 million barrels and a daily production of about 51,500 barrels), reports MosaiqureFm.
According to forecasts, crude oil production will drop by 10% in comparison with the production of 10% in 2015 (it is expected that the production reaches about 2.14 million tons in 2016 from 2.37 million tons in 2015).
The Ministry of Energy explained this decline in production by several factors including the suspension of activity for technical reasons and protests, said the same source.
