A meeting brought together heads of subsidiaries of American company “General Electric,” academic and business leaders and regional services officers in Gabes to discuss the foundations and prospects for development in the governorate of Gabes and problems posed, including pollution and depletion of ground water resources.
The meeting, which was sponsored by the Company of the Industrial and Technological Center of Gabes and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of South East, provided an opportunity for officials of the Tunisian Chemical Group (GCT) to present major projects whose implementation is planned in the region, particularly the second phase of the project to reduce emissions of ammonia, the use by GCT units of wastewater and salted water coming from the water desalination plant of Gabes.
