Tunisia ranks 18th in the world in terms of drought and 20th in the world in terms of water scarcity, according to indicators published by the World Resources Institute.
A document entitled ‘Climate inflation: challenges and opportunities in the face of climate change’, prepared by the Arab Institute of Business Managers and published by the national radio, shows that the main risks facing Tunisia are rising temperatures, decreasing rainfall, water scarcity and drought.
Temperatures in Tunisia have risen by about 0.4 degrees Celsius over the last three decades.
The average temperature between May and September 2022 was around 27.9 degrees Celsius, but rose to 27.1 degrees Celsius in the summer of 2023.
