Tunisia has moved up two spots to 40th out of 137 countries surveyed in the Global Entrepreneurship Index 2018.
Published by the Global Entrepreneurship and Development Institute (GEDI), The GEI measures both the quality of entrepreneurship and the extent and depth of the supporting entrepreneurial ecosystem around the world.
Indeed, Tunisia has moved up from 42nd position in 2017 to 40th in 2018. It outperforms Algeria (80th), Egypt (76th) and Morocco (65th).
At the top of the ranking is the United States, followed by Switzerland, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Denmark.
France is 10th, while the United Arab Emirates (26th) lost seven places compared to 2017 and Saudi Arabia ranked 45th. Chad closes the rankings and is in the last position (137th).
In the MENA region, Tunisia is in 6th position. Morocco is 10th, Egypt 13th, and Algeria 14th. Qatar is on the top (22nd) followed by the United Arab Emirates, and Oman (33rd).
