Tunisia: Djerba-Zarzis records 4.5 million overnight stays

The tourist zone of Djerba-Zarzis (governorate of Medenine) saw an improvement in the tourist indicators as well in the number of the arrivals and overnight stays recorded in local hotels in the first ten months of 2017.

Nearly 711 thousand tourists visited the tourist area of Djerba-Zarzis until October 30, 2017, according to data from the Regional Commission for Tourism.

46.5% of these tourists are mainly Russians, French and Germans, Amel Hachani, regional commissioner for tourism in Medenine said during works of the Regional Council for Tourism.

In addition, the same source added that overnight stays increased to 4.5 million overnight stays during the same period.

During the meeting, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of reinforcing safety equipment in hotel units, respecting airport flight schedules and organizing equestrian excursions, camel rides and quad trips.
