Reported investment in the industrial sector reached 2,371.4 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) in the first nine months of 2016, against 1,874.2 MTD in the first nine months of 2015, posting an increase of 26.5%, indicated the latest statistics of the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII).
The number of reported projects reached 2,673 in the first nine months of 2016, compared to 2,504 in the first nine months of 2015, up 6.7%. These projects will generate 39,279 jobs, compared with 37,043 jobs in the first nine months of 2015, i.e. a rise of 6.0%.
The month of September 2016 saw the reporting of 268 projects corresponding to an investment amount of 474.5 MTD and job creation to the number of 4,320.
Compared to the previous month in which 226 projects, 159.7 MD investment and 2,645 jobs were reported, the month of September 2016 saw an 18.6% in projects to be carried out, 197.1% rise in reported investments and a 63.3% growth in jobs to be created.
