We have learned that Sami Gotrane has just been appointed head of TFBank (Tunisian Foreign Bank), the Tunisian bank incorporated under French law, which ended the 2021 financial year with a deficit of almost €4m.

Gotrane, who is Franco-Tunisian according to a curriculum vitae published in the French newspaper Les Echos, is a 50-year-old graduate of HEC and IEP Paris.

He began his career in 1988 as a financial analyst at the General Secretariat of the Bank of France. In 1997, he set up the first credit research team in a continental European bank at Paribas Capital Markets in London, before joining HSBC Asset Management in 2000.

Two years ago, he was recruited by Natixis Asset Management as Head of Credit Research.

On LinkedIn, Gotrane introduces himself as Managing Director Head of Treasury & Financial Markets at SFIL, formerly Société de financement local, a French public development bank created in February 2013 and active in local public sector financing and the refinancing of large export credit contracts.
