In the first half of the current year, SOTETEL has confirmed the growth dynamic that began in 2023.
On Tuesday, July 23, Société Tunisienne d’Entreprises de Télécommunications -SOTETEL- published its business indicators for the second quarter of the current year, during which the company achieved a turnover of 22.7 million dinars, up 48.8% compared with the same quarter of 2023.
Most of this increase was due to growth in local business, which accounted for 98% of sales, up 51.1% compared with the same period in 2023.
This increase is closely linked to progress on national projects relating to the roll-out of very high-speed infrastructure.
In the first half of the year, the company’s revenues rose by 34.2% to 35.3 million dinars, compared with 26.3 million dinars a year earlier.
Cumulative operating expenses at the end of June reached 32 million dinars, compared with 24.6 million dinars at June 30, 2023, up 30%, including 21 million dinars in purchases (including subcontracting) and 9 million dinars in personnel costs.
At the end of the first half of 2024, the company posted an EBITDA of 3.8 million dinars, compared with 2.2 million dinars a year earlier, representing an improvement of 73.5%, mainly due to the sharp rise in sales and the controlled increase in operating expenses.
