Tunisia: SOTIPAPIER sales decline by almost 40% by 2023

SOTIPAPIER’s turnover in 2023 was 38% lower than in 2022, at TND 99.1 million, compared with 159.2 million dinars in 2022.

This is due to a fall in revenues generated by both Kraft paper (-38%) and corrugated paper (-39%), resulting from the simultaneous decline in selling prices and quantities sold.

The company points out that demand for kraft paper fell sharply on the Tunisian market in 2023, as paper bags are replaced by plastic bags for packaging cement.

This decision will result in a full-year loss of sales of more than TND 20 million in 2023. We hope that this trend will be reversed in 2024.

As regards fluting and testliner, the last quarter saw a recovery in activity for SOTIPAPIER, with prices remaining low.

Total investments in 2023 amount to TND 17 million, compared with 15.6 million in 2022.

In addition, the company’s net debt has fallen from TND 60.3 million at December 31, 2022 to TND 50.9 million at December 31, 2009, a reduction of TND 9.4 million.
