Ukrainian barley exports dropped in September 2016, reports UkrAgroConsult. So, Ukrainian exporters supplied some 758.6 KMT of barley to foreign markets in September. This is down 36% from August and down 27% from September 2015 (1043 KMT).
Nevertheless, based on the first quarter of the season, barley exports from Ukraine are 1.8% higher than a year ago, totaling 2962.5 KMT.
According to UkrAgroConsult data, Tunisia regained its position of a top importer of Ukrainian barley. The country purchased 133.25 KMT in July-September 2016/17 against 27.5 KMT in 2015/16.
Last time, Tunisia bought that much barley from Ukraine as long ago as six years – it has preferred Russian barley in recent years. In the current season, while Russia has not yet
intensified its barley exports, Ukraine has again become a key supplier of this cereal crop to the above-mentioned market.
