Tunisia’s tourism receipts, at the end of the first two months of 2023, posted an increase of around 75% compared to the same period in 2022.
In fact, according to the Central Bank of Tunisia, these receipts amounted to 620.5 million dinars at the end of last February, compared with 352.5 million a year earlier.
In dollar terms, these receipts amounted to 200 million dollars (average dollar rate = 3.0999 dinars).
By way of comparison, the tourism receipts collected by Tunisia at the end of February represent half of the remittances received from the Tunisian diaspora during the same period.
