Tunisia: tourism revenues down33.4% in first 10 months

According to a memo on the economy published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) and covering the first 10 months of this year, tourism revenues have recorded a fall of 33.4% to 2,087 MTD compared to the same period last year.

BCT also noted that labor income decreased by 5.4%, compared to the level of the first ten months in 2014, to 3,190 MTD.

Following these developments, the current account deficit stood at 6,279 MTD or 7.2% of GDP in the first ten months of the year, against 6,262 MTD and 7.6% during the same period last year, the BCT said.
