The Ministry of Transport, on Thursday, launched a national tender for the purchase of 1,136 new buses, amounting to 400 million dinars, as the first installment of a five-year program including 4,000 buses to strengthen the fleet of national and regional transportation companies.
The department said in a statement these acquisitions are intended to facilitate commuting Tunisians, but also pupils and students.
This initiative aims to promote the “three national bodywork designers to create thousands of jobs,” besides strengthening public transport and opening up several inland areas.
