Tunisia: Tunisair expects normal business to resume

Tunisair banks on the recovery of the health situation for a resumption of the normal pace of business activity in 2021.

In a press release, the national carrier announced that it is currently working to remedy the drop in the number of its passengers, which reached -70%, compared to the figures for 2019.

For this purpose, it has put pressure on spending, canceled unprofitable flights and limited itself to operating aircraft that meet the conditions of aviation safety and security.

Tunisair has committed to the implementation, as soon as it resumes its activity, a program of reform and development that requires state support.

As a reminder, the transport revenues achieved by Tunisair during the first three quarters of 2020 have fallen by 67%, not exceeding 436 million dinars (MD).

Similarly, the number of passengers transported has declined by 68% to 848,693 passengers at the end of September 2020, due to the health crisis.
