National airline TUNISAIR has just published its activity indicators for the first quarter of 2024.
The national carrier recorded a slight increase of 1% in the number of passengers carried, which reached 516 thousand passengers, compared with 512 thousand passengers at the end of March 2023.
The company’s revenue grew by 6% to 316.1 million dinars, compared to 299.1 million dinars last year.
Average revenue per passenger rose from 464 to 485 dinars (+4.5%).
Among the main variable costs, fuel costs went up by 2.3% to 97.7 million dinars due to a 7.3% increase in consumption and a 2.4% rise in barrel price.
Airport charges amounted to 53.6 million dinars, compared to 49.6 million dinars at the end of March 2002.
Personnel expenses grew 6% to 51.1 million dinars, compared with 48.1 million dinars at the end of March 2023.
The company’s financial expenses amounted to 16 million dinars, compared to 11 million dinars in 2023.
Similarly, the company’s outstanding bank debt decreased significantly, from 785 million dinars at 31 March 2023 to 755 million dinars at the end of March last year.
In addition, the company recorded a 13-point improvement in punctuality and a 4-point decrease in load factor. The first quarter was marked by an increase in fleet utilization of almost 8%.
