The World Bank reaffirmed, in a statement, its unwavering commitment to support the country and help respond to the legitimate aspirations of its people for voice, a resilient and inclusive recovery, growth and prosperity.
The Bank said it is following closely the events in Tunisia.
It said the country and its people went through a decade of severe and largely unattended economic challenges in a context of heightened socio-political unrest. “This was compounded by the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on people’s lives and livelihoods.” The World Bank pointed out.
