Tunisia’s top 10 suppliers and customers in 2024

Tunisia’s foreign trade returned to an upward trend in 2024, after a significant decline in 2023.

This increase is due to imports, which grew by 2.3% between 2023 and 2024. Tunisia’s exports to the rest of the world, on the other hand, stagnated between the two periods.

As a result, the trade deficit has widened, rising from 17 billion dinars in 2023 to almost 19 billion dinars at the end of December 2024, an increase of almost 11% between the two periods.

Italy remains the world’s biggest exporter to Tunisia. It exported goods worth more than 9.7 billion dinars to Tunisia in 2024. China follows close behind with exports worth almost 9.2 billion dinars.

The Middle Kingdom significantly increased Tunisia’s trade deficit last year. In fact, its exports to Tunisia are still much higher than its imports of Tunisian products (75.7 million dinars).

France (8.3 billion dinars) and Algeria (6 billion dinars) follow. Last on the list is Germany, which sold goods worth 5.9 billion dinars to Tunisia in 2024.

In fifth place is neighboring Libya, which imported more than 2.4 billion dinars in 2024.
