Tunisia: $ 60 million from WB for creation of micro-projects

The World Bank (WB) has just agreed to sign a $ 60 million loan agreement for job creation through micro-projects in Tunisia.

This was revealed by Carine Clert, Lead Social Protection and Labor Specialist at The World Bank on Express Fm on Wednesday.

This is a project, called “Initiator”, which aims to integrate young people, especially those from so-called disadvantaged regions, into the economic circuit by helping them to get in touch with promoters and investors for the creation of micro-projects in certain governorates, namely Jendouba, Kasserine, Siliana, Kairouan La Manouba and even Sfax, but also Medenine and Kebili

She added that the project, which will be operational as soon as it is ratified by the House of People’s Representatives (HPR), will offer services to help young people to overcome difficulties before obtaining jobs in a spirit of creativity and innovation, knowing that this project of economic integration of the so-called “precarious” groups extends over five years from 2018 to 2023 whereas the credits to be allocated are at a very low rate.
