Tunisia: Sotuver sees 15% drop in turnover at end of June 2020

The turnover of the “Société Tunisienne de Verrerie” (Sotuver) went down by 15% during the first half of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, due to the circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is what emerged from the financial statements of the company, published Tuesday, on the site of the Tunis Stock Exchange.

However, the company said that despite these conditions, it has created, during the same period, a new subsidiary Sotuver Glass Industrie, with a capital of 33.3 million dinars (MD).

It has also invested in a new triple-drop machine worth 11 MD to meet excessive demand.

Sotuver said that during the period of general lockdown it had managed to maintain the continuity of its business, in order to ensure production to serve a sector as vital as the food industry.

The return to the normal rhythm was gradual until the saturation of the production tool at the beginning of May.

With a capital of 27.2 MD, Sotuver is a limited company specialized in the manufacture and marketing of all glass articles or products that can substitute glass.
