The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) posted a net profit of 1,363 million dinars at the end of 2024, compared with 1,472 million dinars in 2023, down 7.4%.
This decline was due to a faster increase in expenses than in income. The bank’s total expenses went up by 28.5%, from 839 million dinars to 1,078 million dinars.
Operating income increased by only 5.6% to 2,442 million dinars compared to 2,312 million dinars in 2023.
This income consists mainly of income from money market intervention operations (1,277 million dinars), other income from foreign exchange operations (529.8 million dinars) and interest on forward foreign exchange investments (489 million dinars).
