Tunisia: Total semi-annual profit of listed companies reaches 1.6 billion dinars

For the first half of 2025, the total semi-annual net result of the 62 listed companies that published their financial statements (out of 75 listed companies) recorded an increase of 9.3%, reaching 1,600 million dinars, compared to 1,464 million dinars in the same period of 2024.

Of the 62 listed companies that published their semi-annual financial statements, 57 reported profits, while 5 recorded losses, compared to 7 loss-making companies during the same period last year. In total, 34 companies improved their semi-annual performance compared to the same period in 2024.

Regarding the 20 companies that make up the Tunindex20, their total semi-annual net profit rose by 6.6% compared to the first half of 2024, reaching 1,262 million dinars, up from 1,162 million dinars.

Financial sector

During the first half of 2025, the total net profit of all listed companies in the financial sector, which remains the largest sector with 29 listed companies, grew by 7.1% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 1,070 million dinars, up from 998 million dinars as of June 30, 2024.

The 12 listed banks posted a total net profit of 886 million dinars, an increase of 6.6% compared to the same period of 2024. The banking sector thus continues to contribute the largest share of total profits.

As for the 7 listed insurance companies, excluding BNA Assurance, their total net profit grew by 22.2%, rising from 80 million dinars in the first half of 2024 to 98 million dinars.

The 7 leasing companies saw their net profit increase by 5.8%, reaching 54 million dinars compared to 51 million dinars a year earlier.

Consumer Services Sector

The total semi-annual result for the consumer services sector saw the highest growth, rising 60.6%. In the same trend, the total semi-annual profit of the 2 listed distribution companies (Monoprix and Magasin Général) turned positive, reaching 1.2 million dinars, compared to a loss of 11.9 million dinars in the same period of 2024.

The total net result of consumer goods companies (such as UADH) increased by 36.2%, reaching 84 million dinars, compared to 62 million dinars during the same period of 2024.

Consumer goods sector

The consumer goods sector recorded a 7% increase in total semi-annual profits compared to the same period of 2024, reaching 382 million dinars compared to 357 million dinars.

The total semi-annual profit of the major groups in the agri-food industry (Poulina Group Holding and SFBT) increased by 5.1%, reaching 288 million dinars, compared to 274 million dinars in the first half of 2024.

The industrial companies sector also saw a 1.55% increase in total semi-annual profit, reaching 50 million dinars, up from 49 million dinars in the first half of 2024.

Construction materials sector

The construction materials sector recorded a 14.5% decline in total semi-annual profit, falling to 29 million dinars by the end of the first half of 2025, compared to 34 million dinars in the same period of 2024.
