Jalel Tebib, Director General of FIPA-Tunisia, met on May 18, 2026, Mahmoud Mouhi Eddine and his partner Ali Hijjaji, owners of two industrial units based in Abidjan specializing in the manufacture of plastic shoes and employing nearly 900 people.
During the discussions, Tebib presented Tunisia’s main competitive advantages. He highlighted its strategic geographic position at Europe’s doorstep, the quality of its industrial and logistics infrastructure, and the free trade agreements that provide privileged access to several international markets.
He also stressed the availability of a qualified and competitive workforce suited to high value-added manufacturing industries, as well as the incentives and support mechanisms established by the Tunisian state for foreign investors. Finally, he confirmed the availability of his teams to provide the guidance and support needed for new projects.
Ibrahim Medini, general engineer at FIPA-Tunisia, confirmed the availability of land and premises in industrial zones, as well as partnership opportunities offered to investors.
He also highlighted the strong export potential of this type of product toward Europe and the European market, while emphasizing the many opportunities available in regional development zones.
At the end of the meeting, Mahmoud Mouhi Eddine expressed his interest in Tunisia’s industrial potential and announced his intention to invest in Tunisia through the creation of an initial production unit aimed at the local market. In a second phase, the unit could expand toward exports, particularly to European markets.
