Tunisia’s solar energy sector has reached a new milestone. The country’s installed solar power capacity now stands at nearly 860 MW, reflecting its commitment to developing this strategic industry.
Nearly 300 MW of photovoltaic capacity has recently been commissioned, including major solar power plants in Kairouan, Tozeur, and Sidi Bouzid, as well as several medium-sized projects in Medenine.
Renewable energy now accounts for 9% of Tunisia’s national electricity production, with a total installed renewable capacity of 1.1 GW, significantly strengthening the country’s energy landscape.
These projects, supported by national and international partners, are helping to advance a more sustainable, resilient, and less fossil fuel-dependent energy model.
