BADEA holds first board meeting of 2013 in March

The Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) will hold its first meeting of 2013 on 6-8 March under the Chairmanship of Mr. Yousif Bin Ibrahim Al Bassam.

During the meeting, the board will discuss the Report of the Director General on the Bank’s activities during the period January-February 2013, in addition to a number of financial reports including the bank’s activities during the fourth quarter of 2012 and up to 31 January 2013.

The Board will also discuss the Bank’s Annual Report and the Auditors’ Financial Report for the year 2012, in addition to a number of other important issues, notably the endorsement of the agenda of the 38th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors, to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 2-3 ِApril 2013.

According to a statement from the bank, the Board will also approve financing of a number of projects and technical assistance operations for the benefit of several African countries.

BADEA’s operations cover 44 eligible countries in sub-Saharan Africa and a number of regional organisations.

The operations cover infrastructure, agriculture, rural development, education and health, energy, industry, and the private sector.
