Cameroon: Over 24m barrels of oil produced in Cameroon in 2013

The National Hydrocarbon Society (NHS) of Cameroon said the country has produced a total of 24.2 million barrels of oil in 2013, compared to 22.6 million barrels in 2012.

According to statistics released this weekend by the NHS, 15.2 million of barrels were accounted to the State as against 14.7 million in 2012.

It further indicated that the sale of oil by the State in 2013 brought a revenue worth 832 billion FCFA (US$1.7 billion) as against 785 billion FCFA (US$1.6) in 2012, representing a growth of about 47 billion FCFA (US$98.8 million).

The NHS said it transferred 553 billion FCFA (US$1.18 billion) into the coffers of the State in 2013, compared to 510 billion (US$1.07 billion) in 2012.
