Canadian businessmen explore investment opportunities in Togo

A delegation of Canadian businessmen, headed by Hossein Samimi, the CEO of Etronics, is in Lome, the Togolese capital, to assess business opportunities in the West African country, official sources have told PANA.

The delegation met on Monday with the Togolese Prime Minister, Kwesi Seleagodji Ahumey-Zunu.

Sources say the Canadians could invest between US$7 million and US$12 million in a project in the country’s free zone that would employ some 1,500 workers.

The Togolese free zone was established in the 1980s with the aim to enhance the country’s economy through the establishment of industries
