A conference on airport safety in Africa will be held Thursday and Friday in Marrakech, Morocco, on the sidelines of the 45th session of the Board of Directors of the international council of airports in the Africa Region (ACI-Africa), according to statement from the Moroccan National Office of Airports (ONDA) Tuesday.

Jointly organized by ONDA and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the conference is to raise awareness on the importance of aviation safety in Africa through the implementation of the safety management in airports.

“Holding the meeting in Morocco, the regional headquarters of ACI-Africa, highlights the dominant role of ONDA as a regional hub for development and an indispensable link in the cooperation between Africa and the international authorities in the field of civil aviation, “the statement said.

Topics on the agenda of the conference include consideration of the overall plan for safety in airports; the safety strategy of ACI; the certification and management systems of safety and the technological means to improve airport safety
