The North Africa Bureau of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) will organize a four-day Summit for its inter-governmental experts, under the theme “Promoting diversification and sophistication for the structural transformation of North African economies,” official sources told PANA here.

The Summit, the 28th in the series, will run from 26 February to 1 of March in Rabat, Morocco.

According to the sources, the Summit is a formal platform for the analysis and exchange of ideas between officials of public administrations, operational sub-regional bodies (like Maghreb Arab Union, CEN-SAD), academics, members of the private sector and the civil society.

Participants are expected to exchange views on the social, economic conditions of the sub-region with a view to formulating recommendations on national development strategies and enhance the sub-regional integration in the North African sub-region against the backdrop of the post-Arab spring.
